Official home of EASI

Every elder deserves safety, dignity, connection, and belonging.

Elder Abuse Services Inc. works to prevent abuse, support victims, strengthen families, and build community-based solutions for elders in Fresno and Madera Counties.

Why this matters

Abuse is often hidden inside relationships.

Many elders are harmed by people they love, depend on, or cannot easily leave. EASI exists for those complicated human realities.

Who we are

A Fresno-born elder justice organization.

EASI began from conversations among professors, students, and community volunteers who saw a critical gap in services for elder abuse victims in Fresno and Madera Counties.

That early vision became STAR — Seniors Transitioning to Assistance and Restoration — and has grown into a broader mission of education, advocacy, sheltering options, restorative practice, and coordinated community response.

Stories behind the statistics

Elder abuse is rarely simple. It often happens inside love, fear, dependence, and family.

Family violence, financial exploitation, isolation

Jane's Story

Jane wanted the abuse to stop, but she also loved her grandchildren deeply.

What would have helped

Safe housing

Financial protection

Victim advocacy

Family mediation

Restorative options

These scenarios are realistic but fictitious and are used for education and awareness.

How EASI responds

Prevent. Respond. Stabilize. Restore.

EASI’s work is built around a complete elder justice pathway: education before harm, advocacy during crisis, safe stabilization after abuse, and restoration when healing is possible.

Prevent

Education & awareness

Teach elders, families, caregivers, students, and professionals how to recognize abuse, reduce isolation, and respond early.

Respond

Advocacy & crisis support

Build trusted pathways for reporting, safety planning, victim advocacy, referrals, and coordinated community response.

Stabilize

Safe housing & support

Develop emergency sheltering options, community placements, and stabilization services for elders in danger.

Restore

Restorative elder justice

When safe and appropriate, create pathways for accountability, family repair, mediation, and long-term healing.

The STAR Vision

Seniors Transitioning to Assistance and Restoration.

EASI’s original vision was to create safe, elder-appropriate emergency housing for victims of abuse. That vision remains alive through community-based sheltering, facility partnerships, restorative options, and long-term planning for a permanent Senior Safe House.

What STAR is building

Emergency sheltering options

Community-based housing partnerships

Advocacy and stabilization support

Restorative pathways when safe and appropriate

Community can help

Elder abuse prevention begins with connection.

Isolation makes elders more vulnerable. A phone call, a visit, a question, or a report can interrupt harm before it becomes a crisis.

Call or visit an elder you know.

Support someone who is caring for an elder.

Learn the warning signs of abuse.

Do not ignore your concerns.

Ask professionals how they respond to suspected abuse.

Volunteer, donate, train, or partner with EASI.

EASI Academy

Elder abuse training deserves a real home.

EASI can preserve its historic certificates while developing new pathways for elders, families, caregivers, students, volunteers, and professionals.
